The Story of “The Photography Girl” who finally took a shot at her dreams!

Heya! Welcome to Memories by Mia!

I'm a self taught lifestyle photographer who has a passion for capturing those magical moments in time, immortalising them so you can relive your special moments over and over again.

My first job was at the local camera shop at age 14, this kickstarted my love for photography. However, as we all know, with adulthood - comes bills, so with school completed, I went off to university to get my Bachelor in Accounting. From here, I predominately worked in accounting roles until 2021, where I decided to take a gap year, study positive psychology and return to working at the cameras shop.

This move reignited my love for photography once more and placed me in a perfect position to learn more about my craft on a daily basis, while seeing what people truly desire most when it comes to photographers.

Having spent a full year refining my skills, I decided to take the leap and put myself out there by offering my service to family and friends.

After shooting a a few wedding receptions for family and a power couple who needed shots for their digital marketing agency, I decided to go a step further and truly commit to doing what I love.

Transforming my passion from a hobby to an established business. Built on preserving peoples stories with the snap of my camera so they can relive their special moments forever...

Memories by Mia was born!

Since then I have had the privilege to shoot multiple events from weddings, newborns, live bands and many local businesses.

Every shoot I strive to capture the raw, memorable emotion that you simply CAN’T capture on a smartphone and without having an experienced eye of a photographer.

When I'm not behind the camera or travelling from shoot to shoot, you can find me at a local metal gig or spending time with family and friends.
